IMSA FUSION
What is Fusion?
Fusion is an after-school enrichment program for students who are talented, interested and motivated in mathematics and science. The IMSA (Illinois Math and Science Academy) Fusion curriculum is the base of many of our activities, although we also incorporate home grown modules. Lessons are inquiry based, problem centered and integrative. The learning experiences focus on helping students emphasize logic, mathematical thinking and experimental scientific thinking.
How do I apply?
During the 2018-2019 season there will be 4 modules offered, each for 6-7 sessions. Students may sign up for as many modules as they like throughout the school year. Signing up for a module can be done with this Google Form. You are required to attach an application/explanation of interest, in the format of your choice, to the form.
Modules for the 2018-2019 school year are:
Module 1 [Bridges]: Sept 4, 11, 18, 25, Oct 2, 16 and 23
Module 2 [Secret Communication]: Oct 30, Nov 13, 27, Dec 11, 18, Jan 15

When does Fusion meet?
We meet Tuesday afternoons from 3:20pm to 5:00pm in the 8th grade science room. (Check the schedule for each module as there are Tuesdays we do not meet due to teacher meetings.) Bring a snack to enjoy during our short downtime between the end of school and the start of Fusion.
